Our second album. Is here.
With an even deeper, richer grass-fed cultural engagement.
In a crazy year, we decided Vol.2 had to be more textured, targeted, tighter and risky in its approach.
Vol.1 presented how House Captain views the consumer and commercial landscape of the world. Our dedication to unpacking culture and unearthing insights from all the places within it. Actionable insights and territories that brands and businesses could apply to their output to utilise trends more authentically and with greater agility. Strat Tape Vol.1 was downloaded and shared more than 34,438 times globally, from the US to Ireland, Denmark, Cape Town, and Jaipur. Nike, EA FC, and others bought our insights from it.
Vol.2 does all the same things, but this time, we’re interested in interrogating more isolated inflexion points across culture and consumer behaviour. We’re looking at the micro and then going macro—from the grass to the sky—natural order.
Our tagline and creative direction for Vol.2 is ‘’Take Risks And Prosper’’ - an idea that the brands, businesses, and people who take risks in this climate are the ones who will win the biggest. Audiences still see brands and behaviour as a mirror or a desired alternative to their realities. If your brand wants to stand a chance, you’ve got to be ready to roll the dice 🎲. And if you want your brand to perforate culture, you need to get comfortable taking greater risks.
This year, we’re proud to introduce the following minds: Chaj Arunasalam, a Gen Z insights-supporting editor; award-winning creative director and filmmaker Eric Beard, educator and founder of Half Time; Kelly MacBeth McKay; Courtdate co-founder Ryan McMahill; and Manele El Zoghlami, a strategist, academic, and writer at Space Doctors.
