To mark the launch of House Captain, we created the first of our annual zines, the Captain's Log. The log is a distillation of our brand. The inspiration behind it, the perspective, creative direction and our sense of humour. Basically, it's our creative compendium.

The first issue of the log features some conceptual ads, that take inspiration from the golden age of advertising and the first wave of video game advertising mixed in with some subverted pop/cultural references that span music, language, politics, football, film, animation and... Cereal.

With sprigs of '90s/Y2K imagery, as well as some callbacks to peak Richard Turley art directional stylings. The log features an exclusive interview with Nayana Iz, a founding member of the NiNE8 collective, and one of London's most beguiling new musical talents.

Best-in-class writing from acclaimed journalist and author Jesse Bernard alongside rising voices Sam Adegunle and Kaeshelle Rianne. Interspersed with editorial photography from Aaron Hettey and Cassian Gray of some of our community of captains. Who are some of the capital's brightest talents from across the spheres of music, film, design and sport + wellness - Wax Bentayga, Tay Jordan, Basma Khalifa, Emily Chapps, Manni Ovola, Satara Achille and our creative director - Damola Oladapo.
